True to my nature of getting overly obsessed about something for one minute and totally ignoring it the next, I created this blog in 2020 (#pandemicbaby) and updated it regularly for about a year. Before this post, the last article I wrote was dated May 2021βI haven’t been here in a while.
Since then, a lot of things have happened. I went through a heavy period of loss and grief last year, got a new job (two since my last entry, actually), and even got braces again. I changed up a few things here, like deleting my dedicated yoga account on Instagram (the fewer things to manage, the better) and showcasing my personal feed instead. I also learned how to ride a bike at the ripe age of 26, and it’s become part of my fitness routine in the last year or so. Even more recently, I’ve decided to jump back to yoga classes.
Jump back to yoga classes? But aren’t you a certified instructor?
Yep, you understood that correctly. I went on hiatus last year and haven’t properly attended a yoga class or held a consistent practice in a while. But with a renewed sense of trying again, I’m back on the mat, and hopefully, it sticks. Who knows, I might even teach my first face-to-face public yoga class this year. *manifesting*
Anyway, I knew there would be a time when I’d get the itch to write something again, so I held onto this little piece of the internet that I created. And it seems like today’s the day.
This leads me to the actual point of this post as you might have already gleaned from the title. I’m engaged! π

My boyfriend of three years proposed to me last month during our Tokyo trip. It was intimate and surreal, and I’m all sorts of happy about it! I had no idea he was going to propose until the day before he popped the question (I was able to sense an attempt). It’s almost been a month since it happened, and it’s been a whirlwind since. We’re planning a micro wedding for 2024, and we’ll work our way through all the preps one day at a time.
This post is really just a quick share about how happy I am and to reminisce on how far I’ve come. When I created Flow with Foti, my boyfriend and I were only three months into our relationship. He was a huge reason why I stayed sane during the pandemic, and our relationship bloomed throughout that traumatic period.
I’m also really happy that I got to travel overseas again. That trip was a first since the pandemic started, and I’m over the moon that I was able to share that moment with him. It was such an awesome week in Japan, and we’re already counting the days until we can get to go back.
I’m looking forward to lots of things this year besides getting back to my active lifestyleβthere’s also a Coldplay concert we were able to score tickets to in Taiwan that’s happening in November this year, some home improvement projects that I can’t wait to finally get resolved, and even trying aerial hoop classes for the first time!
I’m so grateful for a lot of the good things going on in my life right now: A stable job, a life partner, uber-supportive friends, no family drama, planned adventures, and new experiences that are waiting for me to unlock. Life really has a way of rewarding the positive energy you bring to the Universe, and I’m going to absorb all of this goodness and attract more of it along the way.
That’s really all I came on here to say. I hope I can find more time to write on my blog this year too. I’ll be experimenting with different content types, mixing informational ones with personal entries like this, and see where the road takes me.
Until the next one. Always protect your peace. π€ Foti
